Have you ever been to the West? The Wild West? Have you ever heard coyotes howling in the distance, felt wind rushing past you on an endless vista of beautiful and dangerous hills, or felt the serenity of a calm night under millions of vivid stars?

This isn't the city! In fact there is nothing close that even qualifies as one. No light pollution. No noisy neighbors. Pure air.
This is Paradise Ridge Lodge,
hidden above Theodore Roosevelt National Park's north unit in North Dakota.

From the cabin you can look northwest into Theodore Roosevelt National Park or gaze at the Park's famed Achunbach. From the southern deck, the view almost makes you dizzy as the vastness of the North Dakota Badlands opens before you.

See golden eagles, big horn sheep, whitetail and mule deer, bison, songbirds of all kinds, cougar, bobcat, coyote, magpies, ravens, and blue sky that is fresh and pure from horizon to horizon. Enjoy all of the comforts of home, deep in the
Wild West.

What can't you do?

For Hunters: Paradise Ridge Lodge sits yards away from the vast Little Missouri Grasslands, a expansive haven for wildlife. Deer, Elk, Sharptail Grouse, Pheasant, and many other natural wildlife live here. Check the North Dakota Game and Fish website for further information.

For Astronomers and Star Gazers: Clean air and lack of light pollution equates to star gazing unmatched! Bring your telescope or binoculars and enjoy the

Milky Way as it traces its path across the dark sky. The International Space station and many other celestial objects are commonly seen racing overhead. Schedule your visit for solar events visible from this part of North America. Bring your camera and tripod to record amazing starscapes. Even the smallest of meteor showers are magnificent in the pure clean sky of the North Dakota Badlands.

For Bikers or Horse Riders: Paradise Ridge Lodge sits a few hundred feet from the entrance to the famed Maah Daah Hey Trail. This world-class trail spans over 120 miles of the rugged Badlands that separate the two units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Paradise Ridge Lodge sits near the north end of the trail. One of the most challenging parts of the entire trail is just southwest of us, dipping into the Bennet Creek bottoms. If you can complete this stretch, you can handle the rest of it!

For Photographers: Scenery simply surrounds you! Wild animals, wild flowers, and wild country. Bring you photo gear and enjoy nature at its finest and most photogenic. History also surrounds you as Paradise Ridge Lodge is within a short driving distance of many historical sites. Take a day trip into history, and then return to your own private sanctuary. The breathtaking sunrises and sunsets will welcome you to a new day, or bring a peaceful close to a day filled with adventure.
